Religious Education

The Office of Religious Education guides continuing education for parishioners of all ages. Providing continuing education within the parish enables us to grow in the knowledge of God and to develop spiritual lives. Various programs facilitate this growth and development; they include: Pre CANA (marriage preparation), Infant Baptism Preparation, Faith Formation, RCIA (sacrament preparation for adults), Youth Groups, and Adult Education programs.

  • First Eucharist Preparation   (2 year program  -  1st and 2nd grades)
  • GIFT [Gathering in Faith Together] (program for families and children grades 3-6)
  • Confirmation Program  -  2 year program  
  • Junior High Youth Ministry (students in grades 7 and 8)

           2018-2019  -  REGISTRATION FOR FALL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM      

                                             GRADES 1 & 2, GIFT (3-6) AND GRADES 7 & 8

                                             REGISTRATION FOR 2018-2019 IS NOW OPEN   

                                  REGISTRATION CLOSES:      AUGUST 17, 2018

 

Tuition Fee:    $100.00 per child [not to exceed $300.00 for three or more children]  -  Official registration does not take effect until payment is received in the Office.

To register your returning student, please come to the Parish Office on:

     Monday or Wednesday:          10 AM to 3:30 PM

     Tuesday:       1 PM to 3:30 PM

     Friday:       10 AM to 3 PM

     Sunday:      After 9 AM and 11 AM Masses

Required for ALL NEW STUDENTS:     Copy of Baptismal Certificate (if not baptized at St. Anselm) and  First Eucharist Certificate AND a form or letter stating grades attended up to May 2017, if the student is transferring from another Parish.

Preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is a TWO year program (consisting of 1st and 2nd Grades)

Grade 1  -      SUNDAYS - CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD  -  11 AM MASS  AND CLASS  TO FOLLOW  -   NOON to 1 PM

                         DATES:  

Grade 2  -      SATURDAYS  (10 AM to Noon)    

                               CLASS DATES:    

                               Mandatory CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD - 11 AM MASS:  

                           

 Grades 3 - 6  (GIFT)  -      FRIDAY CLASSES:        -         6 PM to 8 PM                                                                                                         

                                                               -OR-

                                                SATURDAY CLASSES:   S      -     10 AM to Noon

                                         Required CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD  -  SUNDAY, 11 AM MASS

                                           Grades 3 & 4:   

                                           Grades 5 & 6:    

         Students must successfully complete Grades 3 thru 6 in order to enter the 7th & 8th Grade Confirmation Prep Program

 

 Preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is a TWO year program (consisting of 7th and 8th Grades)

 Grades 7 & 8  -  Sunday  -  4 PM to 5:30 PM    (FOLLOWED BY REQUIRED ATTENDANCE AT MASS  -  5:30 to 6:30 PM)
