The music ministry is comprised of many individuals who give countless hours each week to lead the community in sung worship each weekend.  We always welcome new members.  To join one of our choirs please fill out the form at the bottom of the page.  Read below for a description of each group.

"A church without a choir is like a body without a soul."  -John Rutter

Parish Choir

The Parish Choir meets on Thursday evenings from 7:15-9:00 pm in the church.  We sing at mass 3 weekends each month, as well as on Holy Days and special occasions.  The choir sings from September-June and has the summer months off.  We welcome anyone who is in high school or older to participate in the choir.  No experience is necessary!  We also welcome those who play instruments. Please note: while we welcome new members throughout the entire year, we typically do not take new members the 3-4 weeks before Christmas and Holy Week as we are making final preparations for those two major feasts..

Youth Choir
The Youth Choir meets on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm during the months of September-May and sings at the 11:00 am mass on the third Sunday each month.  We also sing on Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday.  Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the group.  We also welcome high school students who play instruments.

Children’s Christmas/Easter Choir
The Children’s Choir sings on Christmas Eve (4pm) and Easter Sunday (11am).  Rehearsals are held the four weeks before each mass.  Children in grades 2 and up are welcome to sing in this group.  (1st grade students who can read well are also welcome to join.) Children need to attend at least 3 of the 4 rehearsals to be able to sing at the mass.

Summer Choir
During the months of July and August our summer choir sings at mass.  We sing at the 9:00 am mass in July and the 11:00 am mass in August.  The choir is open to members of any of the choirs as well as anyone in the parish.  We rehearse 45 minutes before mass in the Learning Center.  This is a great way to try out the choir without having to make a formal commitment.  Come and try it out one Sunday or for the entire summer.  You just might want to join one of the choirs the following fall!

Cantors
The cantor’s role is to lead congregational singing at masses where there is not a choir.  The cantor also proclaims the Responsorial Psalm and Gospel Acclamation at masses when a choir is singing.  Cantors are typically chosen from within one of the choirs.  An audition and basic training are required to become a cantor.

Instrumentalists
We welcome individuals to play instruments to join the music ministry.  Some examples of instruments that we can include are guitar, bass, drums, flute, clarinet, violin, cello and trumpet.  Anyone high school age and above is welcome to play an instrument.  A short audition may be required.
